Basic is a category of machine Blocks.

It contains several common structural blocks (i.e. wooden blocks), as well as a small selection of moving parts for basic machines.

Trivia[]

The Scaling Block icon is hidden in the vanilla game; it must be enabled by mods such as Block Transform Mapper or EasyScale.
A Starting Block icon is also hidden in this category. However, it is a placeholder with no functionality; modding is required to make it work.
